GENERAL NOTES

Factor X has a biological half-life of 40 hours. Acquired deficiency is most commonly seen in Vit K deficiency/antagonism, and liver disease. Isolated F X deficiency has been reported in association with respiratory infections, AML, myeloma, and other malignancies. F X deficiency in patients with amyloidosis is due to adsorbtion of F X onto amyloid fibrils - these patients may have F X levels from 2-50%
