APPLICATION: This test is used to diagnose Yersina sp infection when cultures are negative or not taken.
INTERPRETATION: Cross reactions occur with Brucella, Vibrio, E.coli and Salmonella as well as autoimmune thyroiditis. Antobdies appear soon after infection and persist for 6 months. A negative reuslt does not exclude the diagnosis.
