GENERAL NOTES

APPLICATION: Therapeutic drug monitoring of phenobarbitone or primidone.

INTERPRETATION: Phenobarbitone has a long half-life and a steady state may not be reached for several weeks. Mean half-life is 100 hours. Primidone is metabolised to phenobarbitone.
