COLLECTION NOTES

Record where patient is having the scan and the date of the scan.

NOTE: Bloods should be collected between 10-13 weeks gestation. The results are then paired with scanning results (usually at the time of the scan). It is best to have the blood collected prior to the scan so results are available but as long blood is collected within the 10-13 weeks period and the scan is also performed within this period then risks are able to be calculated.

GENERAL NOTES

Add on tests can be performed up to 6 days after specimen collection (or longer if there is a frozen aliquot available). The free beta-hCG and PAPPA are unstable if the specimen is not analysed within this timeframe.
